Man United cancel training as pressure builds on Louis van Gaal after Southampton defeat

United lost to Southampton on Saturday with Charlie
Austin's 87th minute debut goal.
Van Gaal has travelled home to Holland in the wake of
the defeat for his daughter's birthday.
The Daily Mail claim that Van Gaal told players and
staff not to report to Carrington on Sunday for post-
game drills - and that Monday's training day was also
postponed.
“I’m very disappointed I cannot reach the expectations
of the fans. They have, or they had, great expectations
of me, and I cannot fulfil them, so I am very
frustrated,” said Van Gaal following the match.
The pressure on Van Gaal has been increased by
former chief executive David Gill's comments
yesterday.
